Dear everyone,
5th September, 2025.
The day this story startedโmaybe a few days before or after.
This was the very first dark romance I ever attempted to write.
It has been a little over a year now. Today is 7th September, 2026. I genuinely lost track of time.
I dropped the last few chapters today, and then I realized... a story without an authorโs note feels oddly incomplete.
Maybe not for everyone.
But personally, for me.
I canโt believe a whole year has passed with this story. I fell so deeply in love with Ricardo, Ananya, and most importantly, Baba (Rudra).
Every character carried a small piece of me. Regret.
Loss.
Anger.
Love.
Everything.
I still remember slowly weaving this book together, chapter by chapter. Haphazardly. Writing anything and everything without much of a plan or a proper blueprint.
Filling up the pages of my diary with blue ink and circling spots with a black pen.
There were multiple times I thought about taking the book down.
Times I crashed out for no reason.
Times I felt completely broken over everything. But I stood up every single timeโ armed only with my broken words and incomplete sentences.
Then came 23rd February, 2026. An idea kept gnawing at the back of my mind.
My story needs a prologue.
I wrote it down that night, 3 a.m. at night, with tears in my eyes and trembling hands on the keyboard. That was how Rudrani and Yuvraj came to lifeโa couple born halfway through this journey, carrying an incomplete love that was pure in every sense.
It was the first time I ever cried over characters I created myself.
Around April or May, I came across an author on Wattpad. Eveee_2006.
This note would feel genuinely incomplete without mentioning her. She patiently taught me the core elements of storytelling that I was so unaware of.
Plots.
Chapters.
Structure.
Framing.
I slowly learned to build something better than before. If you are reading this note, Eva, thank you so much. Thank you for everything.
To my friend Inezthegossipgurl, I don't even have enough words for you. You didn't read the story (because we both know this genre isn't your thing), but you helped me spot every loophole, every mess, every flaw.
Thank you.
With every long paragraph you sent in our personal chats, you made me believe I could write better.
And to the readers who stayed: the ones who commented, the ones who voted, and the ones who quietly read through every rewrite and change I made... thank you for reading.
I really, truly mean it, because there was a time I thought no one ever would.
Lastly, thank you to myselfโfor sticking around, and for never giving up on me.
-Signing off,
Sheya.
